"The Story of The Door"Reaction

When I read this chapter the most memorable part of the story was when the deformed man trampled the young girl at 3am. I remember how the author described him as extremely ugly and as soon as the crowd saw him they immediately disliked him. I can connect to this part of the story in many ways. One way that I can connect to this story is that I can say that I have judged many people before. For example when I'm in class and I see someone who constantly copies off of someones paper, I assume that you may not be very smart and you are lazy. The them that was implied in this chapter was that manners are very important in this time period. Because if you notice that nobody seemed to wonder why the man and the young girl were out at 3am but, everyone was upset at the fact that after the man trampled the young girl he kept moving like nothing happened. I feel that the people of this time period were backwards when it came to things like this.
