Blog Assignment # 3: Character/Theme
The character that I am most drawn to in this story so far is Dr.Jekyll. I feel that Dr.Jekyll is a very interesting character because of the way he acts. Throughout the story he seems to be a very strange and secretive person. He also witholds information and secrets that nobody knows about yet, which gives him a questionable personality. When his long time friend Mr.Utterson reads his will he says that if he were to disappear in 3 months that he wants everything to go towards Mr.Hyde.This clearly bothers Mr.Utterson and tells him that something is strange. This character represents the theme that long-term friendships could turn out to bogus because of one persons secrets.

"The Story of The Door"Reaction
When I read this chapter the most memorable part of the story was when the deformed man trampled the young girl at 3am. I remember how the author described him as extremely ugly and as soon as the crowd saw him they immediately disliked him. I can connect to this part of the story in many ways. One way that I can connect to this story is that I can say that I have judged many people before. For example when I'm in class and I see someone who constantly copies off of someones paper, I assume that you may not be very smart and you are lazy. The them that was implied in this chapter was that manners are very important in this time period. Because if you notice that nobody seemed to wonder why the man and the young girl were out at 3am but, everyone was upset at the fact that after the man trampled the young girl he kept moving like nothing happened. I feel that the people of this time period were backwards when it came to things like this.

Multiple Personalities Disorder
I read the Multiple Personalities Disorder article. In this article I learned that Multiple Personalities Disorder is a form of severe dissociation, a mental process, that produces a lack of connections in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. Multiple Personalities Disorder is difficult to diagnose. Some of its symptoms are: depression, mood swings, suicidal tendencies, sleep disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, compulsions and rituals, psychotic-like symptoms, and eating disorders. The central point of this article is to give you information on Multiple Personalities Disorder also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder and to tell you who gets it and how it can be treated. When I began to read this article my reaction to it was, I didn't actually know that there was a disorder like this. And then i began to think that maybe some of the people i know might have this disorder.
